The Honda CR-Z (Compact Renaissance Zero) is the world's first hybrid sports car. A hybrid gasoline-electric automobile sports car developed and planned for production by Honda. The Honda CR-Z alternate fuel concept car make its debut as a prototype at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show in Japan. The car's styling is inspired by the original Honda CRX. The Honda CR-Z Concept Car was first introduced in 2007, the concept's lines have not changed much since then.


World's First Hybrid Sports Car: Honda CR-Z


Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced plans to begin sales in Japan of the CR-Z sporty hybrid model in February 2010 and Fit Hybrid before the end of 2010.
By combining these two models with the currently available Insight and Civic Hybrid, Honda will further enhance its lineup of compact hybrid models, which leverage the unique characteristics of Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA), including compact size, lightweight and high efficiency. In addition, Honda is currently developing a new hybrid system which is intended to be installed on mid- to large-size vehicles.
